Sister in Christ — Afghanistan Update

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I’m so thankful for your prayers for our Sister in Christ.  

God is doing miracles!! I wish I could share the details that I know, but at the moment I'm not allowed to share specifics for the safety of our Sister and people helping her. We have this hope: someday, she will be able to share her remarkable story for the glory of God!

Right now, she continues to be in great danger, but God is moving the process forward and we should be receiving passports soon. Let’s just say we had to jump through several hoops to get to where we are now.  

It is common knowledge that the Taliban control all of Afghanistan.  To leave the country, unlike here in Canada or the U.S., people have to go through a checkpoint guarded by Afghan authorities (Taliban) - women are not allowed to cross the border without a man, and they must have a good reason that passes the scrutiny of the checkpoint guard.  They can't get into another country without Passports and visas, or they may end up in a refugee camp (which can be a life sentence).

Our Sister in Christ and her daughter are in the care of a secret team of people whose lives are at risk every moment of the day.  They are very skilled and talented in their operations.  You can only imagine that evading the authorities must require seemingly spontaneous movements, a network of safe houses, secret code language, extreme caution with all communications, and closets of disguises.   

Most days, we have been able to message with our young Sister.  She is holding up amazingly well.  She longs for freedom so she can tell of the mighty hand of God and all the answers to prayer that she is experiencing in spite of the hardships.  (see screenshot below)

Prayer requests:

1. For two passports and visas to be issued in the names of our Sister in Christ and her daughter.

2. For physical and spiritual protection from the enemy.

3. For the organization and its members who God is using to bring freedom and peace to widows and orphans. 

4. For the financial needs related to this endeavor. (approx. $7,000 USD are still needed to pay for the passports, visas and the safe house expenses)

Your prayers are so important.  Please remember to pray. I believe she and her daughter are still safe because of the many prayers received.
